Special requests for the kitchen

About this module

Less communication effort and waste between the stations and the kitchen.

Special meal requests, meal substitutions, or schedule changes have traditionally been communicated from the wards to the kitchen via phone calls, faxes, or emails. This leads to communication inefficiencies, wasted time, and, as a precautionary measure, overproduction or stockpiling. To counteract this,

Staff can quickly communicate changes or requests to the kitchen with just a few clicks and track inquiries, delay notifications, or updates throughout the process. When integrated with certain menu or kitchen logistics systems, fully automated processes are also possible.

Requirements

It is important to clarify any potential interfaces or process requirements on the kitchen side. If integration with the main system is possible, it is typically implemented via a REST API. Once the relevant workflows or requirements have been defined, they are configured and ready for immediate use.

"This new feature offers tremendous benefits for both nursing staff and kitchen staff. With just a few clicks, the kitchen staff are immediately notified if, for example, an additional meal is needed on a ward. If they have a question, however, the kitchen staff don’t have to rely on the nurse being available by phone, since they can simply submit a query through the app."
